In October of 2002, MediaVue performed a
complete site re-design. We spent about $400 per month (in
time) to redevelop our own site, market it to the search engines,
and generate traffic. The information below shows the gains
in traffic, the total number of leads, and the total sales
for the first quarter of 2003.
The Results
Our efforts resulted in a 276% increase in free traffic from
search engines!!!

Search Engine Derived Visitor Growth
9,914 searches came from free search engine
rankings (85% from Google). This was a 276% increase from
the previous year 1st quarter. These increases were created
from site re-build in late 2002 and additional focused efforts
to upgrade our site in the 1st Quarter of 2003, which continues
today. The balance of the searches 3,586 came from purchasing
advertising, the cost of those purchases was approximately
$2000 or $.56 per visit.
Site Visitors Inquiries
The new site traffic created 337 inquiries
or 4 inquiries per day, which means that 1 lead was created
for every 40 visitors who entered the web site.
*A lead is a site visitor calling or emailing the office.
Sales From Web Site Leads
Of the 337 totals inquiries we signed 20 new contracts, which
means that every 19th lead signed a contract.
Total Dollars Generated From Sales From Web Site Leads
The 20 new contracts accounted for $27,595
in initial revenue in the first quarter. The additional revenue
from the 20 new customers over the next 12 months is estimated
at $19,000 for a total of $46,612. Making each contract worth
$2,330.
Cost To Generate Each Search Engine Inquiry, Each
Lead and ROI
The cost for the marketing program $400 per month for 6
months was $4,400
- 13,500/4,400 = 33 cents per visitor to the site
- 337/4,400 = $13.06 per lead
- 20/4400 = $220 cost of each sale
- $4,400/$46,600 = Each dollar invested in Web Marketing created
additional $10.59
